My Background

I have more than ten years of experience helping students, families, and borrowers navigate financial aid and student loan repayment. Throughout my career, I have worked across higher education, state government, and federal government organizations, supporting individuals through complex financing and repayment decisions. At Clackamas Community College, I processed financial aid applications and assisted students and families with FAFSA completion, scholarship opportunities, and state and local aid programs. I also managed FAFSA Lab initiatives designed to increase access to financial aid resources. As the inaugural Student Loan Advocate for Washington State, I collaborated with state agencies to implement borrower protections, enforce the Borrower Bill of Rights, and assist borrowers in resolving student loan concerns. Later, as an Ombudsman Specialist with Federal Student Aid at the U.S. Department of Education, I worked directly with borrowers to resolve complex federal student aid issues and supported outreach efforts to increase awareness of available repayment and forgiveness options. Over the course of my career, I have helped thousands of borrowers better understand their education debt, evaluate repayment strategies, and identify solutions that support their long-term financial goals. ``
