My Background

I started my career at Vanguard, where I earned my Series 7 and Series 63 licenses and managed more than 500 high-net-worth households. That experience helped sharpen my financial acumen and how to take complex financial concepts and explain them in plain talk. I transitioned into higher education, starting as a financial aid counselor at Temple University, where I handled federal verification, institutional packaging of incoming and continuing students at all degree levels, Satisfactory Academic Progress and Professional Judgement appeals, and scholarship awarding and disbursement. I moved into the Senior Financial Aid Coordinator role, supporting undergraduate and graduate students in the Fox School of Business. I served on the Financial Wellness Committee at Temple University, leading financial literacy and FAFSA workshops for college and high-school students in the Philadelphia area. Most recently, I was Associate Director of Financial Aid for the Wharton MBA Admissions and Financial Aid office at the University of Pennsylvania, where I was the dedicated point of contact for full-time and Executive MBA students. In this role, I helped manage the awarding and application of Wharton fellowships, as well as awarding Wharton's need-based funding. I have worked with students at all stages of the process – from prospective students all the way to those graduating – guiding them through student loan counseling, loan repayment options, and other options to finance their degree.

Why I Joined College Coach

Throughout my years in financial aid, the pattern I constantly came across was families starting the conversation of how to finance higher education too late. I joined College Coach so I could work with families early in this process. The financial aid world can be very overwhelming. I have spent all my career helping families understand complex financial topics, translating financial aid jargon and acronyms into plain talk. I strive to help families understand the financial aid process. College Coach provides me with a platform to reach a large pool of families across the country. I found a fellow team of student advocates at College Coach, and I am extremely proud of the meaningful conversations we have each day.

Outside of work, I enjoy long distance running. My favorite race is the Broad Street Run, which takes place in Philadelphia. I love that the Broad Street Run route goes right through Temple University's campus – where I spent a large chunk of my life as an undergraduate, graduate student, and financial aid professional. I also love traveling and exploring with my family and settling down with a good book.
