My Background

My admissions career began as an undergraduate student tour guide and fellow at Pomona College. Later as Assistant Dean of Admissions at Pomona, I was responsible for the recruitment, evaluation, and enrollment of students from Northern California and the Midwest. I served as a tour guide program coordinator and the access team program manager, coordinating outreach programs for admitted and prospective students. My previous experience includes working as an ESL college and career coach at McClatchy High School in Sacramento, where my students and I spent time talking about vocational opportunities and college achievement in English and Spanish.
“We had so much trepidation heading into this process, but [our College Coach advisor] helped to alleviate much of the stress. My daughter got into her dream school and received many other offers so we couldn't be happier!

Why I Joined College Coach

I understand how admissions can feel like a mysterious black box. Having gone through the application process myself as a first-generation student, I relied heavily on mentors to guide me through my own process of selection and reflection. Here at Bright Horizons College Coach, I enjoy playing this mentor role for students and families. When students approach this process correctly, not only are they getting into incredible schools, but they are coming out with a deeper sense of their values and priorities as they enter the next chapter of their lives. I’m thrilled to bring my experience in highly selective admissions to guide all students through this pivotal and transformative time in their lives.

Some of my favorite pastimes

My favorite pastimes include several types of movement. I form part of a performing Latin dance team in Southern California where I perform mostly cumbias but enjoy dancing salsa and bachata as well. I’m constantly seeking slower movement as well, taking time to myself on longer hikes in the Inland Empire or on California’s Central Coast. And as a true retired tennis pro (I played in high school), I will enjoy and win the occasional pickleball match.
