My Background

I began my admissions career at High Point University in North Carolina, where I read and evaluated thousands of applications from students across the country. In addition, I led essay workshops and case study sessions to help prospective families better understand the college admissions process.

My deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion led me to create and lead High Point’s Diversity Recruitment Board, an initiative focused on the recruitment, yield, and retention of students from underrepresented communities.

I later moved to Southern California with High Point as a Senior Regional Admissions Counselor where I recruited students from a range of public and private high schools. Through my involvement with Western Association for College Admissions Counseling (WACAC) and the Regional Association of College Counselors (RACC), I developed extensive knowledge of admissions practices across a wide range of institutions, from large public universities to small liberal arts colleges.

At College Coach I have continued this regional professional development and have attended University of California and California State University counselor conferences, gaining valuable insight into their admissions processes, institutional priorities, and evolving trends.

Although I now call California home, as a North Carolina native I bring extensive knowledge of the state's higher education landscape, including both UNC System institutions and private colleges.

Lastly, as a former collegiate lacrosse player I understand the complexities of the athletic recruiting process and unique pressures student-athletes face throughout their college search.

Why I Joined College Coach

During my time at High Point, I found myself most excited by conversations with students during the beginning stages of their college search journey. Often times this is where I found students and parents were the most nervous – they did not have a clear plan for where they wanted to go to, what they wanted to study, or even how to navigate this process. I loved being that calming force for students and parents by giving them the tools and resources needed to navigate the college search and application process successfully. College Coach provides me the opportunity to develop these connections earlier on with families as they navigate the college admissions process. I thrive on assisting families to realize that the college application process does not have to be as daunting as it seems. I was fortunate to have family and committed educators who assisted me in this process, and love this opportunity to help others in the same way.
